The article deals with the legislation regarding consumer protection in contracts for the electronic delivery of digital content, such as music, movies and computer programs. It takes the stance that the existing legislation is flawed because it is primarily intended for the online purchase of physical goods or services, without taking account the specificities of digital content. The contribution shows what kind of innovations a new directive on consumer rights brings in this respect. New solutions are critically assessed and it is further determined which issues remain unsettled.
